The Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce believes in the importance of retaining young talent for local businesses. Current, a young professionals network, is a professional development program of the chamber that aims to retain and attract young talent and provide professional development and networking opportunities. From educational seminars to social networking activities, Current works to captivate the young professional audience and initiate their involvement in the local business community.


June 2010 Main Event

8 to 5 got you down? Change your notion of when and where work gets done as we talk about workplace flexibility. Presenter Kyra Cavanaugh of Life Meets Work will talk about negotiating alternative work arrangements—and why flex is good for business.


June 4, 2010 After 5 Event

Current has proudly partnered with Downtown Green Bay, Inc. as they announce a new Friday night entertainment series called "Fridays on the Fox Presented by The Daily Buzz." Current is assisting with the first event in the series, PianoFondue, a dueling pianos performance.


May 2010 Main Event

There will be no shortage of suspense and intrigue as event attendees try to unravel the mystery of who committed murder on the fox. A murder mystery on the Foxy Lady Cruise Ship will make for a perfect evening of entertainment with friends, significant others and colleagues.


April 2010 Main Event

Understanding dining etiquette is no longer an option in today's business world. Dinner meetings with clients, vendors, senior management and recruiters all require you to be at your best behavior. Simply being well intentioned doesn't cut it anymore. You need to be on the mark and this presentation over a multi-course meal will show you how to be sharp....and show you which fork to use!


March 2010 Main Event

Our March main event is a lunch n' learn about the Greater Green Bay Branding Initiative. Branding co-chairs Julie Van Straten and Gail McNutt will discuss the initiative's core objectives and how it will impact Green Bay's ability to to continue earning national recognition as a great place to live.


 February 2010 Main Event

Partake in the spirit of the Olympics and come out for this Sunday afternoon event. Members of the Green Bay Curling Club will be providing interactive lessons for those who wish to try their hand on the ice. If you're not much for sports, enjoy the social networking in the clubhouse with views of the ice. Optional dinner outing afterwards at The Bar. Click the link under Events to Watch to learn more.


January 2010 Main Event

We had a great turnout for our first event of the year as we watched the 1st place Green Bay Gamblers take care of business on the ice. Thanks to the staff at PMI for taking great care of our crew and supplying the taco bar! Next up: Curling at the Green Bay Curling Club - watch for details to be released soon. Who says you can't have fun in Wisconsin winters?!!

Spirit of Current
This award is presented to an individual or organization that exemplifies the mission of Current through their actions. It is not required that the honoree be a young professional, simply that they support the overall mission of our program. The recipient is chosen by Current’s executive committee from nominations submitted by committee volunteers.
